Drinking in the Social Social Quarters -
Effective
immediately, the Franconia Moose Family Center has established
the
following guidlines concerning responsible drinking.
-
If you enter the Social Quarters and are already intoxicated,
you will not be served any alcohol.
-
If at any time, the Duty Officer or Bartender feel that
you are intoxicated, you will be cut-off from any further
consumption of alcohol.
-
If your preference of drink is mixed drinks, you will
only receive one shot of alcohol in your drink. Additional
shots are not available with that drink.
-
Membership -
-
When entering the Social Quarters, ALL members must show
their membership
card to the Duty Officer or Bartender, each and every
time when entering. This does not just pertain to those
purchasing beverages or food, but to each member entering
the lodge.
-
If you have renewed y our membership and do not have your
new membership
card, you must present either the printed receipt from
the internet or show your cancelled check.
-
Temporary cards given at the time of your renewal, are
usually good for 60 days past the expiration of your current
membership date. No additional temporary cards will be
given out.
-
If you are a member and do not have your membership card,
you do not qualify for a guest sticker.
-
The Bartender will now have an monthly updated list of
all current members, as well as members who are not allowed
in the Social Quarters.
-
Any members that have a problem with their membership
card, should see the
Administrator or Secretary to get the situation resolved.
-
The Lodge will accept payment of your membership dues
at any time.
-
General Meetings -
-
The Lodge General Meetings are held the second Tuesday
of every month at 8pm. Anyone desiring to bring up any
concerns, questions, or suggestions, should bring them
up at this time. All members are strongly encouraged to
attend the General Meetings to learn what is going on
with your Lodge.
-
Keep in mind, no House Committee business will be addressed
at these meetings (i.e. Social Quarters policy, employees,
disciplinary matters, etc.).
-
If you cannot attend the General Meeting and still have
questions or concerns, please contact one of the Board
members to have your question brought up at the meeting.
-
VMA Mid-Year Convention Notes -
The
VMA Mid-Year Convention was held in Richmond, Virginia on
January 18-21. Most of the Board of Officers attended as
well as many of the WOTM.
As usual,
many topics were covered throughout the convention. Some
of the main topics for this year were:
-
Membership cards, issuing of temporary memberships
-
Drinking excessively in the Social Quarters
-
TIPS training for employees and Board members
- The
difficulty of Moose International to obtain insurance
due to lawsuits
-
Status of the Mooseheart ell Fund, Flight 93 Fund, and
the Massey
Cancer research fund
If
you have never attended one of these conferences, I would
strongly encourage each and everyone to attend. Not only
are they a wealth of information about the Fraternity you
have each joined, but you will meet freinds that will last
a lifetime.
